TERMS & CONDITIONS

APPOINTMENTS (IN-STUDIO & ON-LOCATION)

  • Booking Appointments:  To secure your appointment, a non-refundable retainer is required. You must pay 50% of the total cost as the retainer when booking, and the remaining balance is due on the day of your appointment before you leave. Leaving and/or paying at a later time is not allowed.


  • Late Policy:  There's a 15-minute grace period if you're running late. After that, your appointment will be canceled. If we can still accommodate you, a $25 late fee will be added. Please be considerate of other clients and their scheduled appointments.


  • Rescheduling:  You can reschedule your appointment and transfer the retainer to a new date. If you don't provide a rescheduled date/time or if it's unavailable, you will receive an electronic gift card (coupon code) that can be used for future services, classes, merchandise, and products (excluding skincare). There is a $25 fee for rescheduling 3 hours or less of the appointment start time.


  • Cancellations:  A 24-hour cancellation notice is required to avoid a cancelation fee (50% of the booked services).

  • No Call / No Show:  No shows result in the forfeiture of all payments made, and 100% of the remaining balance is due and will be charged using the card on file. Or an invoice will be sent. Retainers and payments received are non-refundable and non-transferable. Future appointments require approval, no refunds will be given.


  • Last Minute / Same Day Appointments:  Booking an appointment on the same day you need it, is considered a last-minute emergency and incurs a $50 fee.

  • Preparedness:  Please arrive with a clean face for your appointment, as skin prep is done before makeup application. Do not wear makeup to the appointment, as removing it during the appointment may cause delays and fall under the late policy. Arriving 20 minutes early to remove makeup yourself is recommended.

    • In-Studio Makeup Classes: Please arrive with a clean face for your appointment, as skin prep is done before makeup application.   • Arriving Early:  In-studio appointments start at the scheduled time. If you arrive early, please stay in the waiting area until your appointment time.

  • Bringing Guests:  Additional guests are not allowed during in-studio appointments unless they are also receiving services. Otherwise, they must stay in the waiting area for the duration of the appointment.

  • Early Morning & After-Hours Fees:  Appointments before 9 am and after 7:30 pm incur an additional $25 fee, except for members of the "Glam & Go" program.

  • Travel / Mileage:  For locations outside the Cincinnati 45237 area, a round trip fee of $25 per hour applies per artist/stylist for distances exceeding 20 miles. For destinations beyond a 2-hour driving distance, please contact us to discuss.

  • Pets: To ensure the safety of our artists at your location, we kindly request that you keep your pets (such as dogs or cats) in a separate room for the entire duration of your appointment.

  • Children: Kindly provide supervision for children to ensure they stay clear of the makeup area, preventing accidents and any contact with makeup, tools, and items within the workstation.

  • Cell Phones, Apple Watch & iPads/Tablets:  Refrain from excessive non-emergency cell phone use during makeup application, as it may affect the artist's ability to see and apply makeup properly. Excessive use and distractions may result in the termination of the appointment.

  • Brow Cleanup:  To ensure a clean and complete makeup look, it is recommended to get your brows done or groomed (waxing, threading, etc) 1-2 days before your appointment. To prevent too much time correcting them, extending your appointment time. Contact us if you need a referral.

  • Skin Allergens:  If you have sensitive skin or allergies, please provide us with a list of products and ingredients that could potentially cause a reaction. This information must be provided 48 hours before your appointment.

    • Chenese Bean Makeup Artistry is not liable for any allergic reactions or breakouts resulting from our services. It is your responsibility to inform us in advance of any known allergies and decide whether to proceed with the services. If necessary, a sample test of makeup can be performed on your skin to check for any reaction.

  • Product Requirements & Recommendations:  Due to liability reasons, bringing skincare, makeup, false lashes and other products from your personal collection at home will not be used nor applied by the artist.


  • No Need To Bring Anything:  If you need specific brands or products by special request or for your sensitive skin, please let us know 24 hours in advance for local purchases or 14 days in advance for online purchases. Kindly refrain from bringing your personal collection of skincare, makeup, or false lashes, as we are unable to use them for liability and sanitation purposes.


  • Liability & Cleanliness:  We maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. All brushes and makeup products are sanitized between each use. Please inform the makeup artist of any skin conditions before makeup application. By agreeing to these terms, you release Chenese Bean Makeup Artistry from any liability regarding skin complications due to allergic reactions. It is your responsibility to inform the makeup artist of any products that may cause an allergic reaction, and you must provide a list of required products.


  • Right to Refuse Service:  The makeup artist reserves the right to refuse service if she feels uncomfortable, threatened, disrespected, sexually harassed, verbally abused, or if the client and/or additional guests are uncooperative. Additionally, if the artist determines that the client has open facial wounds or a skin condition that could be infected or unsanitary, she has the right to refuse service. We may refuse service to prioritize the health, safety, and protection of our artist and brand.


  • Health & Safety:   If you are experiencing illness symptoms such as coughing, fever, respiratory issues, flu-like symptoms, shortness of breath, sore throat, or if you have been diagnosed with COVID-19 or have been in contact with someone who has, please do not come to your appointment. It is important to quarantine for two weeks before scheduling an appointment with us.


  • Force Majeure. Rescheduling & Cancellations (COVID):  

    • Rescheduling: In the event that your appointment or event must be rescheduled due to a force majeure event, all monies paid will be transferred to the new rescheduled date (if Chenese Bean Makeup Artistry is available). If we are not available on the new date, any outstanding balance (with the exception of the non-refundable retainer) will be waived.
    • Cancellations: If your appointment or event is cancelled due to a force majeure event all monies paid will not be refunded per our normal policy. And the outstanding balance will be waived. A gift card in the amount of the retainer may be submitted that could be used at a later date but must be discussed to determine.

    By booking with Chenese Bean Makeup Artistry, you are agreeing to all terms & conditions above. And know that your appointment is confirmed.

  • BY APPOINTMENT ONLY


WEDDINGS

  • Wedding Day Minimum:   4 people (bride + 3 adults) for on-location makeup services. Or $450 minimum balance for on-location services. In-Studio option is available for those with lesser budgets.


  • Book Your Date:  A non-refundable retainer and signed contract is required to reserve your wedding date. Booking can be done online privately & securely.


  • Preview Appointment (Trial-Run):  90 minute private appointment to go over a customized wedding day look. Optional but highly recommended and included in our bridal packages, separate if not. Best if scheduled 2-3 months in advance. A trial may be scheduled before booking but that does not guarantee wedding day services/availability. Click here to schedule an appointment.


  • Payments:  After the retainer has been placed on file, an invoice will be sent to you for the final payment. The final payment is due 4 weeks before the wedding. Payments can also be made via cash or major credit card. Personal checks are NOT accepted.


  • Wedding Day Tardiness:  A fee of $25 will be charged for every 15 minutes makeup artist and/or hairstylist has to wait around for the client, bride, bridal party or to be let inside the "getting ready" location when running late to the scheduled time of arrival and start time. If the makeup artist and/or hairstylist has been waiting around for 1 hour wedding day services are immediately cancelled.


  • Early Morning Fee   An additional $25 (per artist and/or stylist) applies when having to arrive on-location before 8am.


  • Travel / Mileage:  When traveling outside of the Cincinnati area, 20 miles or more, a mileage fee of $25.00 per hour applies.


  • Request A Quote:  All quotes provided are valid for 7 business days.

Additional Terns & Conditions will be listed on the contract. Rates are subject to change without notice. Only contracted rates will be honored.


MAKEUP CLASSES (PARTIES)

  • Minimum & Booking Dealine:  3 adults, 21 and up. Classes must be scheduled at least 30 days or more in advance. Closed major Holidays


  • Deposits & Payments:  A 50% non-refundable deposit is due at the time of booking. Final payment due one week before the event.


  • Cancellations:  Will need to be done one week before the event. If not, the remaining balance of the class will still be due.


  • Tardiness: A 15 minutes grace period is allowed when running late. In the event CBMA has to wait to longer than that to either enter into the premises, set up or waiting on people to arrive, a $25 late fee will be added every 15 minutes. And will consider the class cancelled after waiting 1 hour.

  • Safety & Sanitation:  CBMA has the right to refuse service for a any party location in the event it's deemed as unsafe and/or unsanitary. Compromising the safety of CBMA.


  • Class Locations:  When held in residential areas, classes must have adequate space prepared prior to arrival. If not, this can delay class set and starting on time. When held in a hotel, a large room or suite that will hold guests is highly important. Hotel is at the hostess' expense.


  • Food & Drinks:  The hostess is responsible for supplying the food and drinks of their choice. If CBMA will be needed to provide this additional need a fee of $60 will need to be paid in full upfront.


COVID-19

FORCE MAJEURE CLAUSE
No party shall be liable or responsible to the other party, nor be deemed to have defaulted under or breached this Agreement, for any failure or delay in fulfilling or performing any term of this Agreement (except for any obligations to make payments to the other party hereunder), when and to the extent such failure or delay is caused by or results from acts beyond the impacted party’s (“Impacted Party”) control, including, but not limited to, the following force majeure events (“Force Majeure Events”): (a) acts of God; (b) a natural disaster (fires, explosions, earthquakes, hurricane, flooding, storms, explosions, infestations), epidemic, or pandemic; (c) war, invasion, hostilities (whether war is declared or not), terrorist threats or acts, riot or other civil unrest; (d) government order or law; (e) actions, embargoes or blockades in effect on or after the date of this Agreement; (f) action by any governmental authority; (g) national or regional emergency; (h) strikes, labor stoppages or slowdowns or other industrial disturbances; and (i) shortage of adequate power or transportation facilities. The Impacted Party shall give notice within 5-10 days of the Force Majeure Event to the other party, stating the period of time the occurrence is expected to continue. The Impacted Party shall use diligent efforts to end the failure or delay and ensure the effects of such Force Majeure Event are minimized. The Impacted Party shall resume the performance of its obligations as soon as reasonably practicable after the removal of the cause. In the event that the Impacted Party’s failure or delay remains uncured for a period of 15-30 days following written notice given by it, the other party may thereafter terminate this Agreement upon written Notice.

SAFETY POLICY

  • Sanitation: Chenese Bean Makeup Artistry (and those representing/assisting) will wear a mask and face shield with readily available antibacterial soap for hand washing, hand sanitizer and gloves for each client. We reserve the right to refuse services if unsanitary conditions exist, and/or symptoms of contagious infections/illnesses are present.
  • Mask & Social Distancing: No more than 10 people must be in a room where Chenese Bean Makeup Artistry (and those representing/assisting) are working. Everyone waiting to be serviced must wear a mask and remain 6-12 feet apart from the makeup area at all times. We reserve the right to request a separate room to work in.
  • Additional Time: 10 minutes in between each client will be enforced and must be added to the "Getting Ready" schedule for proper sanitation and clean-up before working on the next person.
